Mini Haul

I recently took a trip to the Beauty Base store in Westfield Shopping Centre (Shepherds Bush) and I picked up a few things.

First these amazing Nail Varnish remover pads from L.A. Colour at 99p each! A total bargain and so handy for when I will be travelling. (They also smell lovely!)

I also got this LA Girl Metal Metallic Nail Polish in Metallic Olive. I don't have any colours like this and it looked so pretty in the bottle! I can't wait to do a NOTD post with this polish. :)

Today I am going Orange Cremé with H&Ms Peach Me Softly. Such a lovely colour for spring! :D

Lush Ayesha Face Mask

I normally get a Lush Face Mask once a month, just to keep me going and to keep my skin in right order. I have managed to try all of them now and the latest to add to the list is Ayesha.
Now this facemask is targeted for anti aging. Which makes me feel terrible as I have just hit this part of my life *sigh* I miss being 21. :P  I like this face mask as it is easy to apply and usually lasts around 4 or 5 applications.

I don't think that I will be repurchasing any time soon though...as good as it was...it made no real difference to my skin..I feel like my skin was softer...but it didn't feel any clearer or brighter.
I still think that the best mask that I have used is Cupcake...perhaps it is better suited for my skin as I have acne prone skin...that also happens to be sensitive.

My wishlist will be to try some other high end brand mask...perhaps something by Clinique or Clarins or even Caudelie. I like to try out different brands and compare them...but knowing me I will probably come back to using Lush again and again.

What recommendations do you have for using face masks??

p.s. I love how Lush works...if you return 5 empty pots they will give you a face mask for free...which is always good as I like to save money... :)

Finally.

I think I posted about this MONTHS ago. But I am very happy because I have finally managed to finish a perfume that I really really disliked.
Basically for my birthday I got given Marc Jacobs Oh Lola fragrance (50ml EDT) Now I really thought I would like this perfume but how wrong I was! I did not enjoy using this perfume at all...but because it was a gift from my parents I thought that I better use it up rather than it go to waste.

For me the smell was just sickening...it was tooo sweet and it didn't last very long either. Now you might be thinking...why didn't she just give it away...again as it was a gift I couldn't do that plus my parents made me open it and have a spray the day I got it hahaha. Apparently this perfume should have notes of Peony and Rose (which I do not see at all) as well as notes of Strawberry, Pear and Vanilla. (This I get too much of) Maybe I am a little too old for the fragrance itself so this might be why I hated it so much. I just don't get the perfume...it doesn't do anything for me except smell like a bunch of candied fruit sweets topped with a heap of vanilla. If that is your thing then I would recommend this fragrance but I prefer floral and fresh scents.
I did however love the packaging for this perfume, it was so cute and kitsch. I always like how Marc Jacobs markets his perfumes and Juergen Teller is one of my favourite photographers! I think I definitely prefer the Original Lola. It seems a little more sophisticated than this one. But I basically used this every day at work, or at home just to finish it. I will probably keep the flower at the top of the bottle as it is a lovely design.

I think its easy to say that I won't be re-purchasing this fragrance again and I hope that no one else decides to gift it to me!

P.S. My next perfume on my finish list is Beyoncé Heat. OMG I just detest this perfume but again I was made to open it infront of my Dad and I have had to use it since. EW. :P

Hello all! I hope that you are all well. I thought I would do a beauty quiz today..just so that you could see what kind of products I like :)

SKINCARE-How many times do you wash your face daily?
Twice most of the time...morning and evening...and then in the shower too.

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo)
I have combination...I have dry skin across my mouth and jaw line...yet an oily T zone and Acne prone cheeks :(

-What is your current facial wash?
Body Shop Passionfruit Cleanser.

-Do you exfoliate?
Yeah around 3 times a week with my Lush Cleanser depends which one I am in the mood for...at the moment its the Buche de Noel.

-What brand do you use?
I use drugstore brands most of the time...but I am thinking of investing into Dermalogica.

-What moisturiser do you use?
Body Shop Carrot Moisture Cream.

-Do you have freckles?
No...

-Do you use eye cream?
No I like to think I am not old enough yet :P

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Yes! Eurgh it can be so annoying. I try to use light products to make sure that it can be healed.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Nahh never tried it..I don't believe the hype!

MAKE-UP- What foundation do you use?
Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions.

-How about concealer?
I dont use concealer much...but its normally the Clinique Anti Blemish solutions one in Shade 2.

-Do you know your undertone colour?
No...that is so bad right?

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I think they can be awesome..but I wouldn't wear them myself has I have been gifted with naturally long, black and thick lashes :)

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes I normally do between 4-5 months though.

-What brand of mascara do you use?
I use Urban Decay Big Fatty Lash or Dior Diorshow... at the moment I am trying to finish off my Rimmel Scandal Eyes mascara. It is really good actually I love how big my lashes get. :D

-Sephora or MAC?
Sephora any day! They stock every brand I can think of...BUT MAC. Unfortunately we do not have Sephora in the UK...so my favourite place to buy make up is Debenhams.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No I wish I did...

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Eco Tools brushes, My fingers...elf brushes...depends really.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yeah Urban Decays Primer Potion followed my a creme/mousse based shadow for extra coverage...my make up then lasts for HOURS.

-For the face?
I sometimes use Clinique Super City block in SPF 40...

-What is your favourite eyeshadow (colour or shade)?
Too hard to decide...but at the moment..it has to be Orb by MAC. It is a really under-rated shadow and I use it pretty much every day.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Liquid on the top line and pencil on the bottom line...I like to use the best of both. I use gel eyeliners too but when I am in the hurry and I have no time for brushes I use my Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner. :D

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Sometimes..I try to be careful. :P

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I like them..but they can be hassle to use if you can't handle the fall out.

-Do you use mineral makeup?
Not really...I don't think it suits my skin to be honest.

-What is your favourite lipstick?
See Sheer by MAC. It is sooo amazing.

-How about lipgloss?
YSL Gloss Pur. They are a little pricey but so amazing.

-What is your favourite blush to use?
Topshop Neon Rose.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
Rarely...I have bought a couple of things from there...only by approved sellers though.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yeah absolutely. Sometimes the drugstore brands can be better than the high end brands.

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
Yes they are the best place to get discounted Lauder products :D

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
I do all the time...but to be honest I don't think I would enjoy it as much as I don't want it to become my profession. I like having fun with make up.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Not really...I can be if I am being rushed though!

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
People who cake on their foundation and then wear concealer on their lips as a "nude lip" look. Oh and I hate people who wear realllly big eyelashes to random places like the doctors...cringe...

-Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
Neutrals for Work and full on colour for the weekends and holidays :P

-Which celebrity always has great make up?
Rooney Mara I loveeeeee how natural she looks. I also love Angelina Jolie...she can make a cat eyeliner look AMAZING.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item,what would you use?
Mascara for sure.

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yeah of course... I think it can be good for your skin sometimes.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Not really hahaha

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
For me its a tie between Dior and Urban Decay.

-What do you think of Makeup?
I love it a lot...and I can never have too much of it :P

MAC Haul

I was very tempted to check out the MAC Naturally collection and buy some stuff from it...however I was really disappointed with the Mineralize Eyeshadows...they just seemed a little boring to me..and I love wearing them on nights out or special occasions...but this collection had dull eyeshadows in my opinion.

HOWEVER!!!!
I did discover that MAC have added a few old mineralize shadows to their collection...upon which seeing this I was in SHOCK....therefore I just had to get my hands onto them. So does anyone remember the MAC Style Black collection? This was back in 2009 I think...and MAC released these amazing Mineralize Eyeshadows..4 of them infact. I only managed to get two of them. 'Cinderella' (A mineralized black with silver pearl) and 'Blue Flame' (A mineralized black with blue pearl). As far as I can remember these were sold out instantly and I missed out on the other two colours...which I was SO SAD ABOUT. BUTTTTT MAC have bought these back! All four shades from the Style Black collection and a new Green shade to add called 'Smutty Green' (Cream/Warm Green/Black veining) (LINK) I was just so happy to see these in the store and now I have completed my collection!

I picked up the Gilt by Association (A mineralized black with gold and bronze pearl) and Young Punk (A mineralizd black with pinkish and purple pearl) I didn't get Smutty Green as I already have that colour in another mineralize eyeshadow that was in the Venomous Villains collection. It is safe to say that I am extrememly happy with these purchases. I had wanted these colours for so so long! 

So the first swatch is of Gilt By Association  and the second is of Young Punk . (By the way...I used the Diptic app on my iPhone to take these pictures. It is so genius!)

I also got a Lipstick as I am really in love with them at the moment! I bought an Amplified Creme lipstick in Cosmo. I am really loving the pink nude shades right now and I wear them every day. So this is just another addition to my collection. It is a really long lasting type of colour and it feels so velvety on the lips.

Oh and my Dad was abroad recently and I asked him to get me a Estée Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick in Crystal Baby. I have wanted this for soooo long too! It always seems to be sold out in the stores here. I just needed a light pink that would go with everything and this was the colour for me. It does look similar to Cosmo but it is pretty different...it is more sheer with a peach undertone when applied to the lips.

Anyway that was my Haul. I am totally in love with these products!
What is your opinion on Mineralize Eyeshadows? Are they really worth it? I for one love them so much and prefer them to pigments. :)

NOTD

Hello all got another Nails of the Day post today.

I am wearing H&Ms Nail Varnish in Polish Me Happy. I love this vibrant and awesome for St. Patricks Day!

Lush Valentine.

Happy February all.
I bought two things from Lush's new Valentines range..mainly because they seemed to be the most interesting.

So I got the Chou Chou...I Love You Toothy Tabs. Which just had to be bought because I love the toothy tabs and I just LOVEEEEEEE the smell of this one. It has rose and turkish delight fragrances to it and it is just DEVINE. They need to bottle up this fragrance and sell it because I would buy so much of it. They taste amazing too and I find them really travel-friendly as they don't fall into the 100ml rule. I wish they were not limited edition...but more than that Lush need to release this as a fragrance!

I also bought the A Million Kisses Lip Tint. This tint is more like a lipstick but in a tub form really. Again this has the same rose/turkish delight smell to it and it is a true blue toned red colour. It feels really hydrating and moisturising on my lips and I really like the colour. I am not really a red person but I like to dab a little of this on my lips and team it up with some clear vaseline just to add a little shine. I have added a swatch to it but I apologise for the blurry-ness my camera is playing up!

I am not really a Valentines kind of person but I do always love the Lush special editions ranges and these two products are so amazing!
